Audrey, I've been reading your husband's lessons and blog and he always mentioned you, so I finally clicked on yours. I'm so sorry you have such a debilitating disease. You are right to stay as active as you can. It sounds like your doctor knows what's best for you and I hope you get relief.

Dear Mary,

In my opinion and from what some doctors have told me, I do believe that you can have RA without testing positive for the Rh factor. In some cases a patient has had symptoms for years before the test came back with proof of the Rheumatoid Factor. Are you taking any meds for inflammation? I hope you're able to find relief and comfort very soon, and get this thing into remission!!

Best of Luck,
~Audrey

I know you're not a doctor, but you seem to have done alot of research.
My symptoms seem very RA but so far all tests have been normal. I've finally gotten in to a Rheum. after almost a year, she's doing a HLA-B27 and took several x-rays. I have to wait for follow-up for results. My hands, wrists, ankles, knees ache, now my back, can't tolerate cold, my heating pad is my new best friend.

Is it possible to have RA with normal tests? any input appreciated. MC

Good write up of some of the tests that help the docs to confirm whether the patient has RA.

For those that might be interested, my RF was 710 on the first test.

My Doc (an old one of 66) did not really need those tests, he just knew, but could not say it until confirmed by the blood work.
